Manna Outreach And Resource Bio
In June 2003, the Manna Outreach program was introduced providing emergency service to needy families located in the Westside Community of Chicago. The Service allowed those of low-income, seniors, and disabled to obtain assistance during the winter months. Manna Outreach also opened its doors at Second Chance Ministries located 916 South California Avenue in Chicago, Illinois as a Heating and Cooling Center for the Homeless.
In August 2004 Manna Outreach added additional assistance for those needing emergency restoral service for utilities. By September 2004 Manna Outreach was able to extend its services to the Southside Communities of Chicago in 2 locations. In September 2005 Manna Outreach began its warm clothing program by passing out new and used clothing to the needy in the community. That same year Manna Outreach began to provide food by preparing hot meals for those who were homeless or had no utilities.
In 2006 Manna became a resource of information for assistance for people across the city. In January 2008 Manna Outreach launched a name change to Manna Outreach and Resource. This same year it became a National Non-Profit Organization with opening offices in the State Iowa. In the fall of 2008 Manna Outreach and Resource began its prayer line offering people a toll free number to call for prayer giving comfort to those in need or stress from life. In October 2009, Manna Outreach and Resource “Christmas for Me” program presenting needy families each year with Food Baskets Holidays and Gifts.
In February 2010, Manna Outreach and Resource introduced “We-Centric” events which will encourage, community outreach and development programs for women, and the sustainability of women businesses. We-Centric promotes Women Awareness, by exhibiting women organization across the state through its expos. These expos also provide women the opportunity to hear and see ideas for businesses, education, career, family, and health. We-Centric which stands for, Women Empowered and Centered, is a program designed for ‘Women-by-Women’ to bring support and aid to meet the needs in women lives. The October 21, 2010 We-Centric Charity Silent Auction & Dinner will help raise money for the small businesses who are still suffering from the Flood of 2008 across the state. This Event will be the kickoff of We-Centric Expos that will begin in November 21, 2010.
In Fall the of 2014, Manna Outreach and Resource will host its first “One Light” Marriages Conference. Our marriage conferences are designed to stop divorces, restore your marriages, and build Families. Our marriage conference is biblical based on traditional marriages and symbolizes One Body and Mind which represents the union. This Program approaches marriage from a biblical aspect and both psychological view of man and woman see each other. The “One Light” Marriage Conference is designed to strengthen marriages, rekindle love, and equip couples to the tools needed to stand through the test of time.
